Ex Votos 1972
These are examples of popular votive offerings left in gratitude in Churches and Monasteries after a prayer has been answered e.g. for the birth of a baby. They seem to be particularly popular in the Catholic and Greek Orthodox religions and can often be found hanging in holy places in shimmering, beribboned bundles before images of Jesus, The Virgin or individual saints.
